Re-dedication of a Cornerstone, visit to Portage-Brady 340 and memories of Bob Sale

My travels brought me to a small town in South Western Michigan called Three Rivers. Here I gathered my Grand officers together, and we proceeded to march up the street about 100 yards to the U.S. Post office where we were greeted by the honorable Thomas J. Lowry, Mayor of the City, and Mr. Randy Campbell, Postmaster. Remarks were given by the Mayor, after which I called on the Postmaster for a brief history of the Post office in this location, then WM Don Hicks presented the Postmaster with a Plaque to commemorate the re-dedication ceremony of this day. We then proceeded to the public ceremony of the re-dedication under the care of my Grand Marshal, WB Bob Cooper.  Oh, did I mention that it was 17 degrees ? And that we were attired in Black Tails and overcoats?  I was doing  fantastic until I had to turn a page in the podium book, I realized I left my fingers back at the Lodge. Well, maybe not, but I didn't notice they were still attached until I got back there ;-)  It was a fine day, and the Lodge even made a contribution to the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation.
We recorded the event, here is a summary of the event, Click here to check out the video........

They knew something was up at Portage-Brady Lodge when the Grand Treasurer showed up dressed in tails.  It was a sure sign that the Grand Master must be near behind, which rumor became fact within minutes. I stopped by to see many friends, meet new brothers and enjoy the fellowship that only Masonry can bring.  A beautiful Lodge room, I should have taken pictures, but as is the case, I was more interested in the people, than the building. Thank you to WM Mahany for receiving the Grand Lodge Officers in fine fashion. Best of luck on a successful year with a lot of work on your trestle-board.......

I have a few minutes to talk with MWB Walt Wheeler on his memories of Illustrious Brother Bob Sales, whose memorial service was held last evening.
