Being in the Lower Peninsula, having all of these Lodges around me, I opened the Lodge directory to see who was meeting. Normally I would be attending Grand Island # 422 tonight, but since they are in the midst of a winter "event", I am staying ahead of the blustery weather to fulfill my obligations down here and abroad. My old friend Byron "Blooper" would be at Lodge tonight, it is only an hour and a bit from where I'm at, so off to Durand and a visit to North Newburg # 161. It was great. I love coming in unannounced. I sat down at the table where Jeff and Mike Cole from Byron Lodge 80 were playing a wickEd hand of cards. Started chit chatting with them, and then the familiar faces came out and started greeting me. The look on the faces of those who realized the Grand Master was in the house were priceless. Handed out a few pins, enjoyed great fellowship, seen a beautiful Lodge room, well kept, and listened to the proceedings of an active lodge. Thanks to WM Sprague for leading the craft. There is a lot of camaraderie with Perry, Byron and North Newburg Lodges working together. As it should be.................
