I wanted to stop in and visit with Mio Lodge 596, but little did I realize what an awesome lodge this is. Not a lot of members, but large in fellowship and activity in the community. WM Paul Perry got an email from me the night before. Usually everyone thinks the Grand Master showing up means a head hunting expedition due to misbehavior. I just wanted to meet the guys, visit, and observe conditions generally. It was a great time, met a Ham Radio buddy, a Fellow Shrine Clown "A-U" and the EA member they were advancing to the Fellowcraft degree. Jason works for the local newspaper, so he took a few pictures after the meeting. It was a busy meeting with reports on pasty sales, making opportunities, award evenings, ladies activities, community events upcoming. There was enough things to keep everyone going. Besides having an advancement, they are also having a brother transferring into the Lodge. We shared some stories of PGM Moulthrop and Brother Russ from Mio Lodge who impacted several lives. There were a few visitors from West Branch, Grayling and Houghton Lake. As I looked around, I counted 20 men in the Lodge. Nice turnout for a beautiful summer evening ..........
