790. That's how many eligible votes there were. And that was just voting delegates. The election ran like a broken clock, they still use paper ballots. For a progressive thinking organization, I was saddened to sit though tellers collecting and counting in an age of electronic voting. It was like waiting for a baby to be born.....
It's been great to have this experience, I sat and listened to the report of the Shrine Hospitals for Children, listened to patients, watched virtual calls made to the various hospitals to share success stories. It all made me go back to a day that changed my life by becoming the sponsor of 3 children to the hospitals. I can say I had wet eyes on several occasions today knowing this organization, of which I am a member, is still helping children with wrap around care. Burns, Orthopeadic, Cleft, ACL and this list goes on. There was a surprise announcement that the hospitals are working on to collaborate with Veterans. More news on that as time goes on.........
