Public Opening, Imperial Shrine

Grand Masters from around the United States were on hand for the 140th Imperial Shrine session in Minneapolis. We were introduced as a group and it was fun to catch up with old friends in the craft. There is so much activity happening, its better to stay informed on Twitter. I added a couple of videos, ran through the events that were close, checked out the marketplace and has some Michigan Masons chasing me down to invite me to their less formal activities.  Took some time to say Hello to my ever capable Ahmed Recorder R. Tom Peters who is also working the Imperial Registration. Also went to supper with my Worshipful Grand Soloist Doug Wolfe and several other Ahmed Shriners and ladies. Monday promises to be another day of engaging activities.

GM Dan Barenie

Dan Barenie Grand Master of Indiana threw us off guard when he related the story of becoming a Mason, not because of a father, grandfather or Masonic influence in his personal life, but ultimately became the Grand Master because of the Shriners Hospital care of his infant son's cleft palatte. There wasn't a dry eye in the place.
