And the wisest knows not the hour or even the minute

Fraternity is an interesting thing.  I serve shoulder to shoulder with many men, with full expectation that they will live forever.  Then once in a while the Supreme Architect reminds me that this is his plan, not mine, and takes a Brother home to the Celestial Lodge above. Such was the case today. Ken posted on my social media for my Birthday on Sunday, this morning he passed unexpectedly.  He served this Grand Lodge on many levels, and we are in a better condition due to his efforts. He served Internationally for Job's Daughters, one of our youth groups. My mind drifts back to the term "unexpectedly" which if you think about it, is interesting, because we all expect to die, we just don't know the day or the hour. I do not fear death any more than I feared birth, yet the uncertainly of the exact time keeps me sensitive to those around me, that I may live my life to the fullest.  We should all so live our lives, so that when the Grand Architect of the Universe calls for us, and we stand naked and alone before that great throne, we may hear the welcome words, "Well done good and faithful servant, enter thou into the Joy of thy Lord". For me I am saddened for the loss, tender hearted for the family, yet comforted by my belief in the immortality of the soul, knowing I may once again clasp my brothers hand in the life to come. Soft and safe my friend, God be with you, til we meet again, you truly lived respected, and die regretted.
