Michael Russell - Demolay Dude |
It's the second day of the conference of grandmasters of North America. It was a lot of interesting material presented. The organization on civility renewed their commitment to continue presenting civility to the grand lodges and has asked each grand Lodge to name in ambassador for civility. Had an opportunity to listen to a presentation on guarding the West Gate. Also heard about leadership and Freemasonry from a Gen X - young Mason and how they view masonry at their age. Listened to a presentation on the quality of the Lodge experience and stopped by to hear the youth talk about the programs that they would like the Grand Lodges to promote. Met Michael Russell, the Executive Director of Demolay International, he's a real sharp cookie. It's been a busy day, lots of nuggets of information to take back. Michigan is always on the top of the wave as far as the issues concerning masonry are presented. I took lots of copious notes and I'm still enjoying the conference. Tonight's banquet was interesting, With the entertainment being a group of young people playing ukuleles.
