The Holiday is here, The Kid experiences my Travel woes

As many will recall, this Grand Master declared last year around this time, there are no airplanes that depart or arrive in Marquette. Well, I now expand that to include Escanaba. Our daughter Stephanie was traveling home from SLC and all was well until the connecting flight from Detroit to Escanaba. Angela and I were sitting in the airport parking lot when the strobes came alive on the runway, heard the sounds of the jet in the air, then nothing. I will tell you, the strobes were because of the fog. A few minutes after the anticipated arrival time, the PA came alive and the airport announced that the flight was returning to Detroit, it could not land.  We got on the phone and asked our dear friends (The Lemons) if they could help on that end.  Apparently on the flight back to DTW, 5 strangers decided to rent a van and do it John Candy style, and drive home. At 7 am I got a call that she was close to home and wanted me to meet her at the airport.  She decided to come home, we then rested and she took the van back to MQT airport for return. While there the local TV news station interviewed her about the delay and cancelled flight. She is home, we are happy to have her..... Greatful for a safe travel.
