Its like a precursor to a debutant ball or a dress dinner. Halloween for kids is one of the most exciting times of the year. They aren't really sure why, but the Orange and Black is rampant. Costumes are made, purchased, designed, created. I'm really not sure who is more excited, the kids or the parents who are getting them ready. At school, the staff cringe, they know its a day of sugar overload, arguments on who's costume is cooler and a disrupted afternoon of parades and visitors. The School will be swarming with Adults who can't wait to see the grandkids parade though the gym or classrooms in costume. At Masonic Pathways, the local school children will be walking from the school over to Pathways, and parading through the hall and into Doig Chapel. Lets hope for nice weather, so the residents will be treated to the cute costumes. Well back to my thought. We are really conditioning the children to enjoy a special day once in a while, to dress up, be excited about themselves, and have treats. Is it so much different than us guyz getting our Tux on and going out for a Prime rib dinner at a Masonic Event ? I would think not, and boy we do enjoy the friendship and fellowship that goes along with it. What am I doing today? Oh yeah, heading downstate to dress up in my Tux, pick up PGM Turton, and go out to dinner with a bunch of our Fratres down the road from Masonic Pathways. And yes, I'm just as excited about this twice a year dinner as a kid in a halloween costume. Oh, speaking of Orange and Black, The Munising Mustangs are playing Indian River in H.S. Football playoffs tonight here in Munising. We got three inches of the white stuff last night, Munising is 8-1. Lets see if they can pull off another 1980 Football Championship.......
Happy Halloween and thanks for following me on my travels :-)
