An unexpected visitor gets put to work.....
So I'm down in Manistique for the regular meeting of Lakeside Lodge No. 371, I get there late, the Grand Lodge website says 7:30, but apparently they start at 7:00 pm Anyway, they have to receive me, I get into the Lodge and realize that they are prepping for an EA Degree. Problem is, the Worshipful Master decided he was not coming to the meeting tonight, and the Secretary's wife is not feeling well at all, so he is at the hospital with her. This leaves a couple vacancies, and before I could say Hiram Abiff, I'm sitting in the Masters chair conferring the EA Degree on a young man I met for the first time at Imperial Shrine in Minneapolis. Kyle's comments I thought were interesting. He said he thought he knew everything the Masons did, but tonight was a real eye opener, and he realized it was much older and steeped in tradition than he originally thought. Now, if we can keep the interest of a 19 year old, that will be the challenge of that Lodge. They certainly need the young man influence in their Lodge......
