Another day at work, sprinkled with a visit to the D.D.S. office to fill the gaping hole in my dental work. Turns out you should not enjoy fresh twizzlers, ever. The filling material from a year ago stayed put, but the 1992 stuff, not so much. No Juice, just a quick fix and no my way out the door.
Next stop is the U.P. State Fair in Escanaba. As I grew up, it was tradition to come to the fair. Its the animal barns, livestock auction, blue ribbons, fair food, rides, free yard sticks, politician stickers, free taffy from Saykllys, (well, not today) the vacuum cleaner salesman, newest tractors, music in the grandstand and so much more. Its a rite of passage for Yoopers, who converge from all 12 corners of the Peninsula. I'll be trying to keep up with my 2 Grand Daughters, 12 and 14...... Where's that Masonic Booth, I need to see if they need someone to hold the table covering down for a couple hours ;-)
As a side note, I really never talk much about whats really happening in the life of the Grand Master behind the scenes. Suffice it to let me tell you that the Job does not stop even though I don't talk about it every day. Usually I can spend upwards of 3 hours a day on Masonic Activities. I balance travel and visiting, Justice and Mercy, meetings and eating, a lot of listening not much talking, decisions on the fly, and thinking through issues that could affect hundreds far into the future.
I invite you to continue on my Journey here in the Blog, we have places to go, people to greet and more education about the Grand Lodge of Michigan to come !!
